It uses different techniques to manipulate and move muscle and body tissue in order to relieve pain, stress, tension, and improve general wellbeing and relaxation.

Massage therapy can be traced back to Ayurvedic medicine in India, around 3,000.

The practice of massage was used for healing injuries, relieving pain, as well as in the prevention and cure of illnesses.

Massage is believed to restore the body’s physical and natural balance in order for it to heal itself naturally.

With the evolving of history and cultures, massage therapies began to be used globally and massage methods and skills developed over time.

Massage therapy is a hands on therapy and so involves physical touch such as stroking, pressing, squeezing, stretching, kneading, lifting, rolling and striking of the skin, muscles and soft tissue over the body.
